Boston Arrival Update

Hello All,

Here is a brief update on our journey across the country and what all is going on now.

We left Spokane on Saturday, July 28th and spent that night at Saint Mary's Campground in Glacier National Park. We went to church in Browning, MT while in route to Yellowstone, where we spent Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday we camped at Wind Caves National Park and Wednesday we spent the night in Albert Lea, MN before spending several days in Chicago with my Mom's side of the family.

From there we stayed in Elkhart, IN, Milton, PA and visited Brother Elliott in NY. We arrived in Boston at about midnight on Wednesday the 8th of August after a long, and enjoyable vacation/journey across the northern part of the USA. We hope to be able to write more about the amazing times we had across the country... such beauty! Being a classicist I have always been drawn to the Ancient places in our world, Italy, Greece, the Fertile Crescent, but seeing the beauty that is here in our own young country was overwhelming.

This past week or so, Annie and I have been staying at our good friends' the Raiger's house while they setup their new house in FL. We've been bumming around Boston, seeing sights, getting acquainted with the area, reading a good deal, applying for jobs, going to interviews, spending a lot of wonderful time together, and beginning our new life over here! We move into our new home on September 1st, which cannot come soon enough for either of us. We're just not the wanderer type, I guess. I've been reading Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry, The Metamorphoses of Ovid, several works of poetry, and an assorted other works. Anne has been catching up on her Nero Wolf and we read Eragon out loud to each other, enjoying it quite a bit.

We have met many awesome people, especially through the Laracys, we've planned a movie night with some Carmelites, lunches and dinners with various friends, and a moving party.

Classes start on the 4th, hopefully we'll both have some jobs sorted out by then as well. All the best to everyone!
